I have a MSI GF4 Ti 4200 128Mb and I was wondering how high I could overclock it without additional cooling. Anyone?

That card is coupled with an Athlon XP 1600 and 512Mb PC2700 RAM and in Unreal 2 on High-Medium settings and I´m gettin an avarage 25-40 FPS, wich is barely playable. Also, could the fact that I´m running Win 98 (not SE) be slowing me a bit down?

And for my last question, would you guys recommend an Athlon XP 2400 (266 FSB) and a Radeon 9700 Pro for a near-future upgrade?

There's no way to know how far your gfx card will o/c until you try, but my guess would be 275 core/575mem would be the max overclock you will get without artifacts. You may want to overclock your CPU as well, if its an AGOIA core it has plenty of headroom. As far as a "near future" upgrade, I'm not sure what near is to you, but wait until ATi R350 comes out to push current prices down, as well as Barton.

Ok, thanks for that. Do you know how I can find out if my CPU is an AGOIA or not?

that is written on the cpu (like a little sticker below the core).

as far as overclocking, lot of ppl seem to get good results of 300/600 and some even much higher.
