MSI Geforce4 Ti4400 doesn't have an MSI HSF?

I just bought an MSI Geforce4 Ti4400 from Newegg (they don't seem to carry it any more). For some reason, it has the regular Nvidia HSF on the core instead of the MSI one. When I get home I'll post a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. I was wondering if some of the MSI cards are like this, or did I somehow get sent a reference board in an MSI box?

Here's what it's supposed to look like pic, I'll take a pic of mine when I get home.

Several of the G4 manufacturer's have reverted to the older, cheaper heatsinks for their 4400 and 4200 cards. I really doubt that this is a mistake on newegg's part.

I highly doubt that newegg is opening MSI boxes and replacing the MSI boards with nVidia reference boards. Considering there aren't that many nVidia reference boards circulating around, especially to retailers, this just isn't likely. It's also unlikely that MSI is shipping nVidia reference boards, since they wouldn't have that many of them either. It's probably just an MSI board with an nVidia HSF attached to it. Who knows, maybe MSI ran out of MSI-branded HSFs? I wouldn't worry about it unless you notice heat buildup or errors at default speed.

I have read so many posts about noisy fans on GF4 cards. This is probably MSIs' reaction. (Only a guess)

I hear this with many brands, not just MSI (noisy fans)

Thanks for all the responses, I wasn't too worried. The card has been working great, so no complaints. It's probably not a problem.

MSI Geforce4 Ti4400 - Did I get shafted by Newegg?

Then only time you might get "shafted" by Newegg.com is the shipping charges, esp taxes for us Cali people, it really hurts.

But they do have the best customer service.

Yeah, Newegg is usually great, but I was just a little worried when the card I got didn't look like the one in the reviews.
