i just bought a new fx5600, installed the hardware, uninstalled all my previous drivers, and installed all the updated drivers from nvidia.com. everything works fine up until windows is loaded. once windows is loaded and i log into my account...if i click start or any icon on the desktop my screen goes blank but my computer is still running. it seems like the monitor is losing the vga signal from the video card. how should i go about troubleshooting this. I've set my AGP apeture to 256 in BIOS, but this doesnt fix the problem.

i have a 1.4 amd athlon, asus motherboard that supports 4x AGP (the card is 8x AGP but i believe its bacwards compatible).

could it be that the power supply isnt enough...or is the video card simply not compatible with my system?

If your monitor says No Signal, then the video card is not giving the monitor anything other than that, the video card should be sending something to the monitor. If it is a Power Supply problem, the computer wouldn't start or restart if on.

It maybe a software problem, see if you re-intsall drivers.
