Anybody know when the ASUS DCUII model will be out? Those tend to be well priced given the componentry...

they can't supply it on super-mature 28nm
whaddya think? YIELDS?

Plenty of cards in stock around the world. And they come in at large batches if out of stock within a few days. In other words, they are under transport.

In North America, most of the national distributor's stock is currently depleted. Like you said, I'm sure they are waiting on a large shipment, but nothing as of yet.

Show me the numbers if you have them. It appears that there are hardly any.

I wonder if this "inventory shortage" was planned as it gives the etailers time to get decent prices on older GTX 780/780 Ti stock.

At this point, I'd have no problem recommending a newly cheapened 780/780 Ti to most people.

nope, nvidia has said that, while they made a ton of chips expecting high demand, they didn't expect this high of a demand and are currently pumping chips out as fast as they can.

When I ordered my 980 last night, newegg indicated over 25 in stock. I don't know how far over 25, but over 25 for a premium model's first batch is not "hardly any" IMO.

Amazon has been out of since they were released. I don't know if Amazon had a small inventory, but I have been looking at Amazon numerous times a day and can't get my hands on a GTX 970. Frustrating.

I'm afraid stock on the GTX 970 in the channel isn't much better...

My educated guess based on data I've seen is that Amazon hasn't shipped a single card since the first day Maxwell arrived. That's telling. Nvidia isn't providing these GPUs to the single biggest reseller in the U.S.

This was a strategic release, so to speak. It absolutely decimated sales of the R9 290/290X.

You should just search around.

https://www.komplett.dk/zotac-geforce-gtx-980-4gb-physx-cuda/824857

30 Zotac GTX980.

https://www.komplett.dk/msi-geforce-gtx-980-4gb-physx-cuda/824863

100+ MSI GTX980.

And out of stock cards listed as incoming 8th, 10th and 15th october.

Just a simple example. And they are selling very fast.

This doesn't demonstrate high numbers, nor selling well. 100+ cards means nothing.

Interesting. Newegg had peanuts too at launch.

Interesting that Amazon hasn't gotten many cards. Newegg had 500+ in stock of some 970 models on launch day.

I can see the demand being high, especially with a lot of people buying 2x970's. Anecdotally, I've seen a lot of stories of people getting their first SLI setup. It has been a long time since the 680, which was the last reasonably priced high end card. People are soaking these up.

Amazon has had stock since launch, it's just that they are filling back orders first and by the time they do, there are none left to put on the website.
