I'm currently speccing an HTPC with mythTV. I'd love to use G965 motherboard with onboard X3000 video. However as far as I can tell none of the microATX motherboards with this chipset have DVI out.

Is there any word on the G695M motherboard, which MSI recently announced? Will the board be released any time soon, and does anyone know whether it will have onboard DVI?

Regards, Alex

Specifications of G965MDO are more or less the same as Q965MDO and I am pretty sure that it lacks onboard DVI. Of course you can use an optional ADD2 DVI card with any G965/945G board or go with a MoDT solution. According to Intel MB Roadmap 2006-2007, boards with DVI is released in Q2 2007 with the new chipset Bearlake-G. Intel IGP is two year behind NVIDIA GeForce 6150 in this regard.

It's not a G965 board, but ASRock ConRoe945G-DVI (reviewed at AnandTech) is in stock at ZipZoomfly.com. It comes with an ADD2 DVI card.

where can one purchase these ADD2 cards?

neither dabs.co.uk or scan.co.uk even recognise the term.

There are a bunch of sellers in USA: Froogle.

I don't know about UK equivalent search engine, but if I searched in ebay.co.uk with keywords ADD2 DVI, then again a bunch of items showed up. Click here. It's relatively cheap.

Thankyou for the reponses.

@renethx: I'll look into the ADD2 card. I'll be running software builds and possibly decoding HDTV with the machine, so I'm avoiding mobile chips.

@yeluda: The P5B-V DH Deluxe/HDMI is an ATX board, unfortunately I require micro ATX for the Antec Fusion case I've settled on. If I go with the ADD2 option, I'll likely get a P5B-VM.

The more I look into this, the more I'm leaning to Asus M2NPV-VM.

But the promise of Intel's X3000 chipset with their open source linux drivers for XGL is so tempting.
