MSI Computer question...

Sent in my Rx9800Pro and it seems like they are taking their sweet ass time finishing up on it... Have any of you done any RMA thru MSI before and have a general time frame I can expect?

My initial hope was that it wont take longer than 2 weeks, it's been 1 as of today... and it's still in "receiving process", with Processing, shipping and Sent statuses still remaining. Perhaps a phone call to them asking about it would promote a more prompt action to my vid card in specific? Thanks, obes.

I RMAed a socket 754 Neo Platnium with them and it took FREAKING FOREVER!! When I emailed rma support their response was it would take from 10-14 business days to process the rma from time of arrival at MSI. My experience was 14 business days.

I was really upset about this - still am. NO WAY it should take this long to deal with a defective product. They replaced it in the end, but it still took SEVERAL days to "pack and ship" it out. Brace yourself - it will be back in about a month.

The best RMA experience I ever had was with DFI. It was a long time ago, I sent them a socket A motherboard with a bad BIOS... when I called them I spoke with only one person who answered all my questions. When he received the motherboard, HE called ME to let me know he had it, and had replaced the BIOS chip, and was going to test it for 24 hours before sending it back to make sure it wasn't another part of the board that was faulty and screwed up the BIOS!

Update: I called MSI support, after speaking with a rep he told me they aim to have it taken care of in 14 business days. I then asked if it was possible to have the processing expedited, which he said is no problem, in which they change the aim to 3 business days. I'm certainly glad I called, as it may quite possibly have shaved 2 weeks off the return time. As TourGuide had posted not being happy about the time, I had a feeling my experience would be just like that, which is why I had the urge to call and talk to them.

Moral of the story, don't be afraid to spend 8 minutes on the phone long distance 😉 , it may save you in the long run.

Thanks again for the replies.
