I wouldn't put it past woot, but until hard evidence is found, I wouldn't point any fingers.

what the hell is MSI talking about? so ok if they were NOT stolen, would the cards be red instead of green? maybe they can call it OEM cards. i don't get the comparision with the red cards.

Where is the confusion here? It's pretty clear that Woot stole them or at least is involved in dealing and profiting from stolen goods. What part do you guys not understand? They made OEM green pieces that they never distributed and magically Woot has them. The red cards are meant for retail release.

From their statement, it sounds like no cards of that kind look like the ones sold by woot, perhaps they were some kind of engineering samples.

so MSI should have just call the green cards OEM's and ask people to go into the card properties and see if it says a certain part # to confirm whether it's stolen goods. instead they compare it with some red card.

From reading a few of the posts on woot.com it seems like these cards had a manufacturing defect as many people were reporting that they failed stress tests. They were probably supposed to be destroyed but someone got their hands on them and they ended up in woot's possession. Whether woot was aware and/or involved in this is the question.

My guess is that an OEM had ordered a large shipment and then cancelled / backed out on that order, leaving MSI with a bunch of these sitting in a warehouse to unload. The conspiracy theory is that MSI and Woot are in on it together - they make a nice profit on the "stolen" cards and don't have to offer any warranty on them either. Interesting...

Well for sure woot will have to give refunds for returned cards, or it may just be the end of woot, assuming this is all true.

MSI isn't some fly by night company. They are highly regarded. I don't believe this for a second.l
