Im pretty sure he has one already. I believe something happens october 31st, either NDA falls or its like its release day... one of those
Lucid looks very interesting/promising... Especially if they are confident charging ~70 dollars for it per mobo! Its like one fifty or something per PCI-E lane if i recall correctly. So 24 bucks for the x16 lane off lynnfield, then either another 24 or 48 depending if you want a x8 or x16 connection to the videocards...
I was about to start a new topic on this but I see somebody already has.
A little over 4 days until we get to see if the Lucid Hydra is the next huge leap forward for video cards.........I bet it is all hype, it must work but I bet it's not going to be anywhere near linear scaling as they claim. Intel invested a bunch in the company, so maybe it's not all hype......can't wait for a review
Well I must say I am a little disappointed. The day came and went and it appears that MSI does not have the motherboard containing the Lucid Hydra chip ready to go. Sounding like it won't be available until Q1 2010. I had hoped to get this board as I have been putting off getting a new PC for some time having wanted to wait for the new i7s, the new AMD video cards and Windows 7. Maybe it is for the best. I can get a new PC now with proven technology and in the mean time wait and make sure the Hydra technology matures and proves itself before making that commitment.
Now to figure out which i7 1156 motherboard to get.
