Is a P3 1000EB MHz Copperm. (FC-PGA) + MSI 6309-694X a good choice for a server who´s going to be running 24-7 all the time, never off, never logged out, always constantly running services on a LAN plus more.

It will have win2k pro.

Is the thunderbird better for this, what do you think is the best option for a cpu and a mobo for this task.
I´ve heard both bad and good things about msi mobo's.... mostly bad though.

help!

I think you mean SMP yes?

If you want to do it professionally then you need a i840 chipset board. They also have dual channel RAM interleaving and hardware prefectch which gives it that speed boost in memory intensive apps.

But yes that MSI board is cheap and okay. It's a VIA chipset.
