If most of you havent heard, some rumors are emmerged that MSI ( Wrld largest Graphics Card Manu ) and GigaByte are to merge by this years fall.

Those rumors are by the way quite logical as survival in Computer market is difficult nowadays.

So far, there are no words from the companies themselves but it would seem that if MSI and GigaByte are to merge, you can expect ECS and ASUS to merge as well.

JUST THINK OF IT!!!

Micro Star and GigaByte. To me, thats a deadly combination.

I still wonder why GigaByte wants to merge, GigaByte manufactureres from MoBo's than MSI while MSI manufactures more Cards than GigaByte.

Both the companies are huge and the merge thing will bring something extra ordinary.

While for ASUS, they are already respected more than anyone else.

Suppose that ECS merges with ASUS

God knows whats next.........

Where will ABIT, Epox and Chaintech Go....

Now lets devise a name for the merge.

I'll say " Micro-Byte"

gigabyte is cool, i don't mind them, but if they merge with MSI it'll suck, did anyone hear about the self destructing MSI board here a while back?

Hmmm.....I owned MSI nForce2 board w/no problems (a little picky on memory, but I think that was the chipset) and plan to own MSI nForce3 board 'cuz I hate this VIA chipset crap on the Asus K8V. I like Gigabyte also (made a nice AXP board for my GF's comp), but what is so bad about MSI?

Are you sure about this? I would certainly take this all with a large grain of salt. I think that it's perhaps more likely, that some of these companies are outsourcing the production of their lower-end, "value" lines. Either Abit or Asus is doing that, with production of their low-end boards being made in China. It wouldn't surprise me that they would be produced in an ECS- or PCChips-owned/operated factory then.
I know that the mobo business is rather cutthroat, but I would be really surprised to see those particular mergers.

God why would Asus want ECS. ECS uses cheap components and doesn't perform nearly as well as any of the top teir companies. All ECSis is big.
