MSI Afterburner fan profile not working on my 7870.

I have a Asus 7870 & 12.8 and I'm overclocking with Afterburner. I searched and searched but couldn't find the answer.

The fan profile I set is just reverting to the Asus default settings and is too loud.

I tried checking the box to force the fan profile at each speed but it doesn't help.

Is there something I need to do in CCC Overdrive to get the Afterburner fan profile to kick in? The fans should not be kicking into high speed until 80C and they are going full bore much earlier than that. Will the fan profile just not work on my card because of the BIOS?

Thanks for any help.

Click on the auto button in afterburner and hit apply. If auto isn't selected your fan profile doesn't get used

I do not see a button labeled Auto anywhere in Afterburner. Can you please tell me where this setting is? I don't see it on the main control area or any page of the configuration settings.

On the main afterburner screen, it's to the right of the fan speed slider. It has a graphic of a gear, or something like that.

I see it. Auto is, and has been on, the entire time and the card's stock fan profile is still taking over. Also, I can adjust the speed manually in CCC and it sticks just fine. Is there a certain arrangement of settings I need in CCC to get the fan profile to work? Here's a few screenshots of how I have things set up.

Thanks but I finally got it to work decently. I did a complete uninstall and driver sweep of 12.8 and then removed Afterburner then installed it again. Now it seems to work OK. It seems to fight itself with the fan speed, like the fan will start to ramp up and then it will be caught by Afterburner and lowered but it's not all that often I hear it. I can live with it for now.
