After wondering about this topic for a while, I finally emailed MSI on when there would be a BIOS for the MSI Neo2 Platinum (K8N). The response I got was:

"Dear Customer,

The beta bios release will be announce by end of this month for the Dual Core CPU Support.

Sincerely,
Technical Support Division
MSI Computer Corp.

On AMD's website there is only ONE AGP motherboard that officially supports the X2 right now-- the old Asus AV8 K8T800 pro.

Check here

This is pretty sad. It's clear those of us with slightly-older motherboards will need to wait several weeks or perhaps months until the X2 will work on our existing Socket 939 boards.
So much for the expensive "Platinum" Neo2.

Will you even be able to buy the chip by then? This may be a big non-issue.

You want to hear a real problem? Leadtek hasn't released 64bit drivers for their TV tuners yet. And worse, they don't seem to have any plans to do so either. :|

Doesn't matter when you can buy the chip for me. Shuttle has officially announced that X2 chips are not compatible with my SN95G5.
