The board has Memory Acceleration Technology, that automatically optimizes memory, pretty much the same as 875 PAT. See tomshardware article if you're unfamiliar with what I'm talking about.

In any case, I was running an AMD system (1700+ with nanya ram, Soyo Dragon Plus mb, MSI ti4600 video card) that was crashing all the time, mostly blue screen. So I decided to upgrade the whole system to try to get away from the problem. I went with MSI 865PE NEO2 LS, with Corsair 512 (x 2) 3200 CPT, and 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 800 fsb. I chose this board based on many excellent reviews out there that are placing it above the IS7 and P4P800 (slightly).

I can't run the board any faster than the minimum performance in the Speed setting of the Frequency/Voltage bios area. The speeds are: SLow, Fast, Turbo, and Ultra Turbo.

The only significant parts carried over from the old system are the video card (MSI ti4600) and hard drive (WD 80gb 8mb buffer, reformatted with the new board). Some of the blue screens come back from Microsoft error report as caused by the video driver. I put the driver back to the Microsoft issue generic one, instead of 45.23 from NVidia. Still crashes when running faster than "Slow" in the bios. You can all imagine how that thrills a techie, to run equipment in the "SLOW" mode!

Can there be something wrong with the Video card at the hardware level that can cause these kinds of crashes? I don't have a suitable card to substitute with, I'm looking at having to buy one to see if it's the culprit.

Help???
