I am looking to buy a 8600GT and the MSI 8600GT OC is on my list:

I have read that the fan can be powered by either a 12V or a 5V connector. It is too noisy at 12V, and the 5V connection is mandatory.
However, I have seen reports of some users having trouble with the 5V connector not being compatible with the power plug on the card PCB. Supposedly a question of 3-pin vs 4-pin. Yet, other users and reviews don't mention such a problem.
If anyone here has this card and could tell me how the 5V connector plugs into the card, and if there is a 3-pin vs 4-pin issue, it would help me.
