MSI 845ARU onboard sound stuttering?

Is anyone familiar with this mobo's onboard sound having stuttering/skipping issues - particularly during high device (cdrom) access times? It may not be a sound prob as the mouse cursor also freezes-up for like 3/4 of a second every so often (enough to suck..)

I have checked all IRQs, no conflicts, nothing sharing that looks out of place, no dma conflicts or conflicts of any kind that I can find...

ANY INPUT? I have scoured the bios for possible boobytraps but found nothing that seems to work..
