hi all,

i recently bought a geforce 3 msi 822 . i tried to enable fast writes (well, my mobo supports it...abit kt7a raid) but the card doesnt support it.

i used pci list to check thew graphics card. it tellss me that it doesnt support side band adressing and fsast writes.
is it the geforce bios that doesnt allow me to turn fw on ?? if anyone has an idea , please let me know...

Fastwrites has to be enabled in the motherboard BIOS. I have an ABIT KT7 and there is a setting for it under the "Adavanced Chipset" settings in the BIOS. Be sure to select "Supported" and then use WCPUID (can be downloaded from: http://www.icrontic.com) to check to see if it's enabled. Also, make sure that you have the VIA 4-in1 4.32 drivers installed and that you installed the AGP drivers in "Turbo" mode.

fast writes is enabled in my mobos bios but i cant get the vidcart to work with fast writes or side band adressing.
i dont know if its the msi vidcard bios but not one single tool was able to turn fw on....

i gues its the bios ...maybe someone knows if theres a nvidia standard bios out...

How do you know it's not working? Are you using SiSoft Sandra or WCPUID to check it. Snadra reports mine as not enabled; WCPUID reports it as enabled.

sandra reports that it is not enabled and pci list says that my card doesnt support sba or fast writes but that it supports agp4 x and that agp 4x is enabled(which it is, so pci list works) further turbo2001(a msi tool) says that sba is disabled too....
