MSI 7950 or Gigabyte gtx 670????

hi

im looking to get a good GPU. The only reason ive considered the 7950 is because it comes with 3 free games. I can get both at the same price so money is no problem. i might overclock in the future eventhough ive heard it lowers the life of your GPU

i plan on playing bioshock infinite, hit man absolution and far cry 3

go for the sapphire HD 7950 OC. the card you have mentioned comes clocked at 950 mhz out of the box and uses a reference HD 7970 PCB with a single 8 pin and 6 pin power connector. the card at stock speeds will match the GTX 670. When you overclock the HD 7950(1.15 Ghz) is faster than GTX 680(1.3 Ghz). this card can hit 1.1 Ghz at stock voltage. overclocking does not affect life as long as you don't go for extreme voltage. just stick to slight voltage tweaking. good luck.

HD7950 880-925mhz is not materially slower than GTX670 OC in 2 of those 3 games, costs less and comes with the games you want to play. You can also get an MSI HD7950 for $270 with a lot of games, saving you a good chunk of change since you already want FC3 and HA.

The MSI 7950 is one of the best overclockers too. It's safe to overclock as long as you don't overvolt too much. We have a thread with many HD7950 owners who help you get the most out of your 7950.

You should strongly consider overclocking 7950 as it scales really well with more overclocking, easily exceeding HD7970 Ghz or GTX680, and this can be done within the safety limits of Tahiti XT voltages.
