:( HI All,

I bought a MSI 785Gm-E53 AMD board for the new Phenom black 550 processor, I installed everything right as per the manual.

I turned on, it did not boot and also did not power up my CD-rom, I had a case from 2007, I thought the power supply should be sufficient.

I tried checking my connections again, everything is fine and tucked in right

based ont he MSI manual, it has APS lights, i see blue lights
my second led is not lighting up (ie *|#***)

THe first one is NB and the next 4 is APS lights the very first LED on the APS is not lighting up, can some one help me, to find out if the mother board is bad or the power supply is not sufficient.

Thank you
Neel

Usually, the first step in trouble shooting these cases is to unplug and reseat your vid card and RAM and any other plug in cards. Your board has onboard video so, if you're using that, just do everything else.

If that doesn't work, and you are using a plug in video card, unplug it, and try to use the onboard video. That will tell you if the vid card is the problem.

If that doesn't work, unplug all but one stick of RAM, and try again.

If that doesn't work, and you have more than one stick of RAM, try the other stick(s), one at a time.

If nothing else works, remove the CPU, and check the pins under a magnifying glass to make sure you didn't bend any of them. I left that until last because it means removing the HS/fan and re-installing it.

Things to double check include that you've connected all the required power connections, including any separate power connector required for the CPU and/or video card.

FWIW, if you can't solve the problem, I've always received excellent help from MSI's tech support. Contact them through their support page.

Finally (or maybe first), take a deep breath. It won't help the machine, but it may relax you as you try to find the problem.

Good luck. :)
