Hey. So a few days ago i bought Msi 770 Gtx Twin Frozr . But i dont know what drivers i must to install. We all know that 320.18 WHQL had bad opinions about damaging GPUs. Even Beta i am scary to install. What now to do? That situation with nvidia drivers are very messy now.
Maybe that drivers from CD? But they are still beta......

Finally , maybe i will try that drivers from CD what they came from with my 770 TF box? If you ( MSI ) give me that drivers on cd with card, so they must be safe i think? If card will be crashing on drivers from cd , then i can RMA GPU?
Any suggestions?
I want to be safe, and don't damage card.

Thank you.

By the way.

There is a problem. I dont have a DVD writer at that moment. I am trying download from official MSI site , but i get this:

"The requested URL /files/downloads/nb_drivers/nvidia_32008_win78_v64_vga.zip was not found on this server."

What now? Can i use they from Gigabyte site, all will be ok? They are 320.08 too the same like came from my CD?

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4629&dl=1#driver

They dont mess with my card, because i have Msi 770 Twin Frozr , while they are for Gigabyte 770 with other clocks.?

The only drivers that will work are the ones that cam on the disc, or the latest ones that include the 760. Latest is the 320.49.

No crashes in any games you had on 770 Gtx TF on that drivers 320.18?

BF3, METRO, Crysis 3?
Dont have BF3. Metro LL and Crysis 3 no problems at all.

p.s. I'm on 320.49 now and recommend using that.

There is no way they cane prove you were using beta drivers. The drivers are available on nVidias site. If they broke something, it will not invalidate your warranty.

It will most likely be a while before WHQL drivers get released. So you can use the beta (or 320.18), or not use your card. Your choice.

Its from Nvidias own site. There is no separate terms of agreement that differentiates between beta and WHQL when you download it. It wont invalidate potential RMAs at all. Betas mostly offer improvements over last WHQL drivers. In almost all cases I prefer latest beta over earlier WHQLs.

I am thinking about 320.08 from CD . They will be safe? I want only check temps on that card. Even dont play now.

But like i say i dont have a DVD writer now. So from where i can get the same drivers ? Only gigabyte site? But they will be ok if i got MSI 770 card?

320.08 will be ok ? I want only test my new 770 TWin Frozr on benchmarks and check temps.
I am asking about 320.08 from cd. No the newest beta from nvidia site.

One really has to wonder how many issues with drivers are actually caused by user error. I've very seldom experienced driver issues, but it seems there are always a number of people that experience driver problems all the time..

Just makes me wonder.

Why are you against using the latest drivers anyway? The ones from the CD will work but are always old and stuff has been fixed and performance goes up in some titles with later drivers.

Ok installed .

Why my fan is changing about every second always from 990 RPM to 1020 RPM when i am on windows mode ? This is always every sec.Just:
Fan speed is changing to 34-35% 34-35% 34-35% 34-35%34-35% 34-35% with 990 RPM to 1020 RPM, 990 RPM to 1020 RPM , 990 RPM to 1020 RPM , 990 RPM to 1020 RPM , 990 RPM to 1020 RPM .... Background programs are turn off

Is this normal or not?

But Valley is stable max 68 C:) On ultra OOOOOOO

Its normal, its called variable speed and the fan sensor will not be 100% accurate in reporting fan speed. Mine fluctuates a lot more than that.

I am worried , why my card is boosting max 1136mhz . No matter what temps i have. Like 68 or 75 i get the same boost. With fan like 44% and 1250 RPM. Is this normal or not?

I know peoples with that card and they just got higher boost.

Here are temps:
When i hit 78C on Crysis 3 i have :67 TDP
When 71C on BF3 i have : 57 TDP

Here is:

http://www.legitreviews.com/article/2202/13/

Max boost 1162mhz max. I have 1136mhz.

No. This card has a temp target of 79c by default. You can see it in Nvidia Inspector or Evga Precision (and I believe in MSI AB). You can reduce the temp target to lower in the above mentioned apps and the fan speeds will compensate to ensure it stays around the temp you set.

One time i had 80C in Metro Last Light, even with 79C temp target. Is this normal? Why i get 80C with 79C temp target? Its ok?

it's fine...temp target affects the temperature the drivers will allow the card to go before it reduces the clock speed slightly. It won't always hold 79c but it will do its best by increasing fan speed and reducing the clocks 15mhz or so every few degrees.

But on 80C i had still the same boost 1136 C without decreased. Strange?

And last thing about boost .

Anyone else have any ideas on why my card seems to be the only GTX 770 out there that only boost to its set speed? I know technically, this is how it is supposed to work, but it just seems like my card has no ambition to go higher like all the others out there.

Now every single person I have talked to with a GTX 770 Twin Frozr has showed that during gaming or benching that their card will boost over the set default boost speed. All users I have talked to with a Twin Frozr card said, at stock clocks, their card actaully boosted over the default boost speed to 1163 Mhz during a run through of the Heaven benchmark or any games. This is without changing any settings in Afterburner and leaving all OC options at default.

My boost is always 1136 Mhz.

Every card is unique. It will not be the same as another. There could be many reasons. Try overclocking and set the targets higher and see what happens.
