Hi everyone,

Long time lurker here but never posted until now.

Anyway, just bought an MSI 6950 TwinFroz III to replace my trusty old 8800GT. Now when I power the system on there is nothing on the display and a red light shows on the top of the new card.

I've reseated the card.
System works fine with the old card back in.
Have double checked PCI-E 6 pin power plugs are both plugged in correctly.

The rest of my system specs are as follows:-

Corsair HX520
Asus M2N-E
Athlon 64 X2 5000
5GB Corsair XMS2
Dell SP2309W

I don't think I've done anything stupid........ is the card DOA?

Thanks.

For anyone that's interested, I've now resolved the issue.

Turns out my old Corsair hx520 was somehow not giving the 6950 enough
juice. Went and bought a Corsair TX650M and everything is fine now.

Now just need to upgrade mobo and cpu to get the most out the new gfx card. 😎

good work! that would have been my first guess to check 🙂

i can't believe you're still sporting an x2. that 6950 must be starving! you may be able to find an AM2+ phenom x4 and keep your mobo for pretty cheap.

BF3 performance is terrible (although I half expected this anyway) even with the new card. My cpu is holding the 6950 back badly, am going to go Sandybridge in the next week or so.

It's a never ending saga of upgrades. I did something similar lately 🙂 In the end you will be happy with the performance. I went the I5-2500k route and new gpu/mobo/ram/.
