MSI 694D Pro or Abit BP6?

I'm getting ready to upgrade/build a new router/file server, possible game server. I have a sinlge celeron 400 now, so i figured I'd get a dual;y system going. The problems I am seeing with the BP6, are only allows 768mb ram, and some people seem to have problems with linux and this board. The MSI 694D Pro looks awesome, but I cant seem to find any revision 1 boards online.

Don't get the abit board. If anything you should get the new MSI board that supports the new Tulelituon CPUs. It all depends on what you want to use the board for. Hope this helps or if you really need more info go to www.2cpu.com

I have the ABIT BP6, and it has been aboslutely rock solid, first running it as a file server, now setting it up to run web/ftp, maybe even counter-strike. Dual Celeron 366 OC'ed to 458.

I would go with a celeron sock370 board and run it single, maybe it'll do 600@100fsb. Chances are slim of a dual 600 though(I had two celeron 400s on a 694D Pro rev.1 and it would not do 100fsb only one of the proc made it that high, had to settle for 80fsb).

I've never been much of an overclocker, and this will mostly be for a file server, router, etc. So I most likely would NOT be over clocking it. And I would like the option of upgrading, so sometime down the road, be able to pop in some p3's.

Ok, if I cant find an MSI board by the end of the weekend, I'm getting the BP6..so if anyone out there knows where to buy one 🙂😉

Would you guys rather get the Alton M790MR dual Socket 370 motherboard or the MSI board? How are the reviews on the Alton Dual board? I've never heard anything about that board but i did hear something about those Alton boards that they are the same as the ECS D6VAA dual boards??? Some say Those Alton are just the remake of ECS D6VAA dual FC-PGA boards and eveything the same except one less PCI slot in Alton board! So does that mean those Alton boards will overclock well too? Anyways, i'm going off the subject now! I did run linux with that Abit BP6 with dual 300A cellies and i had no problem....it ran so smooth!
