Would this video card (MSI 6800GT AGP8x) be a source of bottlenecking for a P4 2.8 GHz Hyperthread CPU with 1 gig of PC3200 ram? I'm just wondering because I have the card, but don't know if the card will bottleneck my system.
 
yeah your system will bottleneck it, but it shouldnt stop you from getting the card. your always going to be bottlenecked by something 😛

That is a similar setup to mine befor I took my A64 3400+
And to answer your question yeah it bottlenecks your system but even with that cpu which isn't nowhere to outdated ,you'll see major differences.
It all depends and on the resolutions you use.
Till 1024x768(cpu limited resolutions) you'll be seriously bottlenecked. Cranking up the res all the way(gpu limited resolutions) will lead you to less serious bottleneck.
