MSI 6600GT PCIe acting up

Hi and thanks in advance. I have an msi 6600gt pcie that is acting up, so I turn the computer on today and I hear it working but the monitor shows nothing so I naturally think it is the monitor and proceed to unplug it from the computer but as soon as I unplug it the monitor has a message that there is no signal in a small window. So the monitor is working and I shut the computer down and try again and this time there is some image but there are artifacts all over and you cannot even make out anything. I tried the 6600gt in another computer and it did the samething. What do you think is wrong with the video card since it is only like five months old and was bought brand new. Oh by the way the card tends to get hot in a the dell 8400 that I use, also the card gets quite a workout by being used like 7-10 a days playing COD on the highest settings. Sometime in a two maps it starts acting up but it usually goes away really quick. The card has not been overclocked and is in stock conditions.
