First of all I've read somewhere people use coolbits to oc their msi 6600gt. Does ocing increase the cards performance noticeably? When I goto properties I have a section where it says MSI Overclock or something and all you gotta do is drag a bar and put apply to the mhz you want to run at. Is this actually ocing the card or some bs to make you think that you are? gives me 3 options 2d - 300mhz 3d- 500mz core 900mhz!

Thanks for your help!

yes that will overclock the card. NVIDIA cards are really simple to overclock. If you really want to feel like your overclocking the card get RivaTuner. That has a lot of different options for graphics settings and you can put in different game profiles and everything.

I was messing with a customers card and it oced VERY nice. IT is a MSI 6600GT PCI-Express.

Core was watercooled and clocked at 604mhz

Memory didn't have anything on it and clocked up to 1299mhz.

Almost 9% increase on the core, and 23% increase in the memory.

Your memory is probably the same 2ns memory that the 1ghz memory cards came with. At least a Rosewill brand that was AGP was factory clocked at 900mhz but easily clocked to 1ghz. I didn't try higher. It did have the 2ns memory on it too.

I don't think it can hurt to try. But of course do it at your own risk.

I use coolbits to overclock my MSI 6600GT. My benchmark scores increase when I overclock, but I'm not sure the difference is noticable in games.

I get artifiacts if I up the core to 575. You should be able to get to at least my settings, though. 550 for the core, and 1050 MHz for the memory.
