MSI 6600GT -> Lock up and restart pc

Hello, can you please help me out.

Last night, I purchase a video card, the MSI 6600GT 128MB PCI-E, to play cs source. I went home and installed it by plugging it into my pci-e slot. Turn the pc on, and download the latest drivers from nvidia. Open cs source, and head to the options to change my controls. It then lock up on me. I then hear a beep, and my pc just restart. Its just keep on doing this everytime I open cs source or watch a dvd movie.

Althon 64+ 3200+
1256MB PC2700
300W PSU

If that is a Generic 300W PSU then that is the most likely cause.

Did you remove the OLD VIDEO Drivers before installing the NEW?

I would lean towards a power problem.
