Hello,
I bought a MSI 6600GT (agp) and I tried to install two of the games that came with the video card which were prince of persea and spinter cell demo. Neither work. Spinter cell tells me it can't find the sound driver which is understandable as my sound card is firewire and was turned off, but then it gives a general protection error i don't understand why it needs the sound card turned on in order to run....... prince of person tries to load but then pops up a message telling me it is incompatible with the video card...
3dmark from time to time will stall at different points in the bench mark. Only one time it ran to completion and that was when I reformated the computer and installed msi's latest official driver (77.xx) instead of nvidias reference drivers on there website.
anyone have these types of problems...
EverQuest II seems to run however when I max it out at 1024x768, it runs to a crawl. i didn't think that would happen, and thats with it overclocked w/ coolbits finding the optimal setting of 579/1060.
btw.. my system is:
Athlon XP-M overclocked to 2500
1.5GB Ram
Epox KT880 (replacing this w/ a soltek SFF w/ a KM400a. for some reason i find the KM chipset faster then the KT880).
MSI 6600GT
2 19" monitors
MOTU 828MKII (sound card)
POWMAX 400w ps....
