MSI 6163Pro - CPU V header on Mobo - Dead?

Hi,
My Cpu fan (3 wire,Generic, 6k RPM), stoped working, got " Abnormal HW" massage on Post.
After I hooked the fan to the case fan header and made the change in the bios it came back to work normaly.
I did not check yet the Volt output on the fault header but I wanted to know if anyone had this problem, is this a SW problem or a more serius HW problem (note that Auto CPU fan control stoped functioning a while ago).

Two considerations would be the age of the board & what bios??? I have never heard of a problem like this on an MSI6163pro??? I just traded mine after having it for quite a while... My second really good OC`ing board (first was ASUS P2B-B miss it too...)
