MSI 2600pro - how does it compare to 2600XT?

MSI 2600pro, Core @ 600, Mem @ 1400

HIS 2600XT Core @ 800, Mem @ 1400

how much of a difference would performance be due to different core clocks? Is the core on the MSI lower due to the fact that it's a heatsink only design (i imagine that reduces heat output by some measurable degree, no pun intended)

I wouldn't mind switching over to this if the difference isn't that much.

let me be honest with you...

they both suck. Yes, they do. I'm not against ATI but Nvidia 8800GTS 320 seems like a much better choice. Price is an issue, I know but you're getting something MUCH better for the money. The 8600 and 2600 are pretty lousy performance wise.

Hell, go with a x1950pro or something

price needs to be $100 or less, and preferably silent. that's why the 2600 seems like a decent option.

oh, I didn't know they were going that low. However, I'm not familiar with the performance differences

i believe anandtech is using a 2600pro DDR2 (most are). the one MSI has listed is DDR3 with nearly the exact same specs (minus core clock) as an XT model.
