Hi,
My system keeps crashing. Firstly I get a photoshop not responding error (whether the application is open or not) and then I get a msgsrv32 not responding and I have to reboot.

Does anyone know how I can clear up this error?

TIA

Pete

Do you have any specific 3rd-party plugins installed in photoshop? Does the error only occur during or after running it (not before)? If it occurs while running or after, were you doing anything unusual before the error? Or something specific that *always* causes the error? What version of photoshop/windows?

Give us more info!

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

It doesn't seem to follow any rules. Sometimes my computer just hangs, I ctrl/alt/del and find that it says photoshop isn't responding. I 'end task' (even though it isn't open) and then windows locks up and I get the msgsrv32 not responding message.

Sometimes photoshop locks when I try to open it giving the same result.

I don't have any third party plug-ins for photoshop.

I think it must be photoshop that is causing the problem so I think I'll just have to reinstall it and hope that works.

It may or may not be photoshop if your computer is hanging *before* photoshop is ever run. If you're running on a PIII, you may want to attempt the PIII plugins: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/564a.htm

[edit]BTW, what else is running on your machine? msgsrv32, if memory serves correctly, deals with programs/scripts calling windows API, especially VBA stuff (i may be wrong, somebody correct me if i am...)[/edit]

I've had more than my fair share of problems with "msgsrv32". I HATE
that stooopid program. :| The only way I've found to fix it is to use Windows2000. 🙂
