msconfig - System Configuration

It might be caused by the HP printer drivers.

I had the same problem with XP, but I believe that the changes to msconfig settings will be done on reboot anyway.

If not, google for the solution - but I think it might involve removing the HP printer drivers...
 
You dont have access to some of the registry keys that need to be changed. Looks related to one of the services your trying to alter. You would need to take ownership of the registry keys and give ADMINISTRATORS access in addition to SYSTEM.
 
Everything is like this, there was some spyware on here and maybe it messed up the rights. It doesn't matter what I check or uncheck the message popups for everything.
 
Yes you can make changes, just that you get that stupid message is all....

Well, you can take this radical approach, but this is the ONLY real problem (?!? - not a real problem, an issue at the most...) that I have ever experienced with HP printers.

Have been using their printers/scanners/copiers/faxes for years with no issues.

Even my laptop's Vista Upgrade was exactly as advertised - FREE. No shipping/handling charges, like the other OEM's had.

I will always highly recommend HP products.

You can't say that it would never happen to Lexmark, Brother, Canon, Samsung or Epson...


Now, if you add another manufacturer's printer driver to this system, you will be only asking for more trouble...
