msconfig in winME

Hi, I was wondering if someone could explain to me what these different progs in msconfig startup do and if they are neccessary. I'm trying to speed up boot up time and I was told one way to this was to eliminate some of these programs. The ones that appear in my msconfig are:

scan registry
task monitor
PC health
System tray
Load power profile
Asus probe
Newsupd
Creative mixer
load power profile (should this be here twice???)
scheduling agent
*statemgr
Epson status monitor (printer)
power reg scheduler V2

Thanks

I think the only items which are absolutely necessary are Task Monitor and Systemtray.. but some drivers or features associated with drivers must be loaded in order for them to work properly.
