Hi,

I'm looking for the Win2k equivalent of the msconfig file available on WinXP so I can remove some entries from the start-up list. Can anyone please let me know what it is?

Thanks!

You'll probably have to edit the registry keys. hk_localmachine -> software -> microsoft -> current version -> run

XP has msconfig. Is the 2000 equivalent better?
In what way?

MSconfig is not meant to be used for removing startups anyway.

Care to explain why it's not meant to be used to disable startup items?

right click my computer, go to manage, expand services and applications, highlight services, on the right is all the services, either do automatic, disable, manual, stop , start, etc.

You can simply copy MSCONFIG from any Windows XP PC and put it into the C:\WINNT\System32 directory. I've done it multiple times and it's worked without a hitch.
