Her family's damn computer of course got hit with that stupid virus. But to make matters worse they never updated windows, so there are MASSIVE updates to do, I mean really its just putting the service packs on but those are pretty big. She's running 2000, I left the service pack 4 downloading and we went for dinner, she said it finished downloading and she applied the patch but it still lists msblast.exe in the task list so I dunno if I'll have to reformat it or not, grr!

Go to one of the virus peoples websites and download their fix.
The patch stops the worm affecting the computer, but I don't think it removes it.

I've done it before with friend's computers, pop in a WiFi card or NIC & You're in business😀

I actually have a bench complete with a Ethernet port and phone line. It also has a 14 inch monitor and an old KB/ Mouse. People want me to look at there computers I tell them just bring the tower.😀

SP4 doesn't remove blaster. You have to apply the ms03-026 update. Go to microsoft and download it. It should fit on a floppy.

Nono I know however in order to apply the patch you must have service pack 2 or later on, they didn't have any. Hence, putting service pack 4 on. Now I have to run the Antiblaster fix.

Same here. Awesome timesaver. Convenient little setup for some extra cash too.
