MS Word/System problem.

Got a good one for you guys. Client's pretty new 1 Ghz P3 Dell desktop, 256MB of RAM, running WinMe. Whenever she runs Word, it freezes at the startup box, and sometimes says system resources are dangerously low. Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. No other programs show the problem. Very often, after only 30 minutes from a fresh boot, her system resources will show 50% or less.
What has been done:

Virus check came up clean
No strange programs running on bootup
Scandisk and defrag run

Ideas? Thanks all!

have your client download and run cacheman. It could be a memory problem, like a leak or a bad ramchip...

Click on start then search, find files or folders. Search for " normal.dot" once it finds it delete it, delete all of them if there are more than one. That should fix your word problem.

get all your windows critical updates and office updates too

make sure you can view all your files on your harddrive and do a search for: normal.dot

delete it, reboot
and try it now. that should do it....
