MS Word guidlines wont go away *HELP*

So for some reason these guidlines have all of a sudden appeared in Word for me and I have no idea how to get rid of them and have tried everything.

Oh yeah and another thing..

Everytime I open up Word for some reason "Bold" is always selected, and I have no idea why.


I'm almost close to just reformatting my comp because I can't figure this out for the life of me..


any suggestions?

No lcue what that block is, but i think that you can get rid of the bold by clciking it off on the black document and then overwriting normal.doc ...could be wrong though. Not sure where normal.doc is either, prolly hidden in some folder... i'd search for it, make a backup, and try it

I'm guessing you have some East Asian languages installed on Win XP?

And oh.. for the bold font issue, go to Format - Fonts, change font style back to Regular, click on Default on the bottom left and you are good to go. Formatting because of some bold fonts in Word is kinda silly!

yeah i think it does have something to do with some asian fonts on this comp and i have no idea why i have them on here...ill reformat when my semester is done so everything is fresh and clean

I have the Asian Language Pack and I dont have that problem at all.
