My daughter (who is in college) bought me a copy of this CD (P/N E85-03210) from her school bookstore with product key and everything and I do know it must be legit because it was sold by a very reputable school's bookstore.
When I tried to Google the p/n and mostly came up with threads in German language, duh? Here are the questions:
1) Is it the full Win XP Pro 64 bit OEM installation CD?
2) Can I use it for a new pc build, disregards drivers issue etc. for now?

Your take pls.

what is the size of data in that CD? if it's big enough say at least 800MB then it should be a full version. you can't use or run a 32-bit programs on a 64-bit platform.

It looks like the full version. My new build rig will have an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ in it plus 1gb DDR400. Is it good enough? Or 2gb DDR400 better?

Huh???? Where are you getting all these wrong info? 800MB? Can't run 32-bit programs on a 64-bit XP? Have you ever used a 64-bit XP?

youwould be silly enough to think that a32-bit program will run on a 64-bit.

Colleges all across the nation sell OEM Microsoft products; its fine. That is how I got Office 2003 for six bucks, :)

I don?t have a lot of experience with X64 yet but have it sitting in my desk when the time comes to take the plunge. As far as I know AMD 64 processors can run 32 bit applications on 64 bit windows in a mimicked environment ? thus not all programs being able to work. There is a list out there that shows compatibility too. I have no clue about Intel processors though.

Sir you are wrong!

Windows Xp x64 has a 32-bit emulation software (which runs alot of 32-bit software 90-99% the speed of it on WinXp 32-bit)

For a list of 10-15 different program form(Office,CAD,CFD,Drawing,Music, and misc.) only two programs that were install did not work in 32-bit mode (Algor CFD, and Norton AV Corp. Edition). The algor had an update and the Norton has a new version. Everything solved.

OP if you are planning on installing it on your DELL Intel machine then your P4 has to be 64-bit compadible. I do not know much about the newest intel's p4s so this question might find an answer by downloading and installing cpuz and see if it has 64-bit support.

Hope this helps,
Chris

Obviously, you've never used 64-bit XP. Don't be silly.
