i'm running ms virtual PC 2004 and just installed a win98 os on it. everything seems fine, but the internet doesn't work. the ip is assigned properly via dhcp, the DNS servers are exact as in the router and on my host, the router admin screen shows the new win98 ip in the dhcp client table....so it does get all the info.
but i can't ping the router even though the "gateway" is set correctly to the router IP....how did it acquire it and all the other DNS info if i can't ping it? i can ping the router with the host.
i can ping the host on the network but when i go to browse the network it says "unable to browse the network"
i also installed firefox 2 inside win98 and it times out like ie4. i can't ping any ip addresses outside either my lan either. any ideas?...other than VMware?
thanks,
Leon
