MS SQL System Service Manager icon appeared in system tray after Windows Update

We did a Windows Update yesterday and now she has a MS SQL System Service Manager icon in her system tray. She has Office XP but without MS Access or any other DB programs. Virus and spyware scans are clear. From what I have read it is just a database manager, so would it be ok to delete it using Add/Remove Programs?

Personally I wouldn't delete it, I'd just remove it from the startup apps list.

start > run > "msconfig" > uncheck box under startup options which corresponds to program running @ startup.

I would delete it.

It'll keep polling for internet connection, will keep broadcasting requests to Microsoft for updates to itself, and will consume some of the RAM.
If her computer isn't running SQL Server, she doesn't need it, so clean it out.
