Top Gear and “Forza Motorsport” Join Forces in Unique, Multi-year Collaboration

“Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection” available starting this October including exclusive download codes for Top Gear TV Content, Car Pack and Xbox LIVE theme

The hottest name in racing games and the world’s biggest car show today announced the beginning of a long-term collaboration, kicking off with the release of Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection in October. The award-winning “Forza Motorsport” franchise is collaborating with BBC’s Top Gear team to integrate the Top Gear brand in future versions of “Forza Motorsport” products. The relationship will also deliver a number of co-promotions that aim to give fans of both “Forza Motorsport” and Top Gear a unique opportunity to engage in both brands. With “Forza Motorsport” expertise in digital automotive experiences and Top Gear’s irreverent approach to car reviews and entertainment, the collaboration promises to deliver an unrivalled experience for all keen gamers and car enthusiasts.

“Bringing together Top Gear and Forza Motorsport is a natural fit,” said Dan Greenawalt, franchise director at Turn 10, the studio within Microsoft Game Studios that created and nurtures the Forza Motorsport franchise and community. “Top Gear is all about automotive passion and playing around with cars which is exactly what we deliver with Forza Motorsport games. We are looking forward to collaborating with their team to bring some of what they do so well on television to our game design process.”

Fans will get their first taste of the results of this collaboration with 90 minutes of specially edited Top Gear TV content plus access to the ‘Stig’s Garage Car Pack’, all downloadable exclusively through Xbox LIVE, as part of the new “Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection” available from this October.

"It's incredibly exciting to be teaming up with such a big name game,” said Andy Wilman, creative director at Top Gear. “I fear we'll have to be a bit more ambitious and a bit less rubbish when dealing with these chaps."

Robert Nashak, Executive Vice President, Digital Entertainment, BBC Worldwide commented, “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with such innovators in motorsport gaming as Microsoft, who share our enthusiasm and vision for the Top Gear brand on this platform. Forza Motorsport is already a great game and we’re sure the features we’ve created together, using the Top Gear brand, will really excite both fans of the show and the game everywhere.”

“Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection” is the complete award-winning racing title, including all previously released Game add-ons, bringing the total car count to 500 and offering more than 100 track configurations. It includes an Xbox LIVE downloadable content card giving players access to three of the hottest new cars on the market today as part of “Stig’s Garage Car Pack.” These include The Koenigsegg CCX, LEXUS LFA, and Mercedes Benz SLS-AMG. In addition to the car pack, the Top Gear downloadable content will also feature an exclusive 90-minute Top Gear video from lads on Top Gear including Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May and an Xbox LIVE Theme featuring Top Gear.

“Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection” is available in the United States and Canada starting October 26, 2010;

I've been wanting Forza 3 ever since it came out but it got pushed aside for other games. Maybe I'll finally get it with the Ultimate release at the end of October.

I already own the game (three times over actually with all the copies I keep winning) but if they make The Stig a usable driving character I'm SO there!!!

Well, I don't think it looks like the Stig will be a driveable character in the Ultimate Collection but here is what it includes.

 • “Stig’s Garage Car Pack” -- This free Add-on Pack is exclusive for Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection owners and will feature three of the hottest supercars around: the Lexus LFA, the Koenigsegg CCX, and the Mercedes-Benz SLS-AMG. Look for profiles on all three of these amazing rides here at forzamotorsport.net in the coming weeks.
 • Exclusive Top Gear video feature -- Produced exclusively for Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection owners, this free downloadable 90-minute feature will be a compilation of Top Gear segments showcasing the variety and insight that has become the series’ hallmark.
 • Xbox LIVE Top Gear Premium Theme -- Put the Stig on your dashboard; this free exclusive Top Gear dashboard theme will only be available for Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection owners.
I'm sure the Stig Garage Pack will be included as DLC at some point.

I love Forza. I would definitely play with you all in the Forza game night, but I really suck at driving games. So, I just play through the campaign on medium with the assist markers on.

I was getting all excited, but it's just a car pack with some video and a dashboard theme. For now.

To make this truly epic, it NEEDS the Top Gear test track.

And the Stig Garage pack will definitely be a DLC eventually. It just might take a while, like the LE cars (ala ZR1).

I'm loving this... one of my favorite games and one of my favorite tv shows. I hope they give us the top gear test track.. we can race the cars against the stigs times as they're update on top gear!

it's gonna be a distruction derby with that top gear track

It's Nov 2nd...thats 23 days. i'm glad my weeks aren't as long as yours 😛

I dont follow what you are saying (but I might just be dumb)

The Top Gear-Forza deal comes out Oct 26th, which is exactly a week before Nov 2nd (GT5 release)

So this is basically the "greatest hits" edition of Forza 3 that includes all the DLC?

Oh, and it has some videos.

And no Top Gear Test Track.

Meh. I guess it's great if you never bought Forza 3 and were looking for an opportunity to get into it, but if you already own it, there's no incentive at all. Especially if you already have all the DLC packs.
