Ms. Pac Man & Galaga Arcade Game $ 4,200.00 + shipping

LINK

Takes me back to the days of dine-in pizza at Pizza Hot and greasy joystick handles. Note: a 10% off coupon will really do some good on this one.

My friend just had arcade emulator box made. 4 joysticks w/6 buttons each, trackball, knob and a bunch more buttons. Res is super low and look just like they used to. It cost a lot less than that thing and has a few thousand games/different versions of popular games.

4 player gauntlet = 🙂

Yeah why did you post this? The previous post sums up possible cheaper solutions quite nicely.

There are definitely cheaper alternatives to do just about anything. However, just because it can be done doesn't mean I want to do it. I would rather pay $ 400 and have someone install my truck shocks rather then install them myself for Less than $ 50.00.

As to the "previous post"......I didn't notice a link or price for what was done. Plans, materials, pictures....??? Sounds like a friend of a friend story. Don't like the post.....move on. If you have something constructive to add such as a cheaper price or review on the system....please share.

I saw the stand up ones on the back of some catalog in the airplane for like $2000, hammacher shlemmer or something..

or you could always do a mame cabinet 😉

OK.

Buy an X-Arcade cabinet for $1,000. Includes a 27" TV pre-installed.

Buy an Xbox for $150. Either mod it yourself or pay someone $50 to do it for you. Possibly spend another say $300 to have someone put everything all together and your finished. $1,500 and you now have a full sized Arcade machine that plays thousands of Arcade games 100% perfectly using MAME-oX (Latest version even supports Lightguns, so you can add that as well if you like), as well as thousands more games from N64, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy Advance, NES and just about any other system ever made with the dozens of other emulators that are available for the Xbox.

To me, that might just be a little bit better value for my money...

Yea thats nice if you want a production one, but I have built and can build ones that are just as nice, play over 4k games and even cost A LOT less.

Suprised I haven't seen someone say something like:

"OMG, my Xbox cost $150 and came with games that are much better"

😀

This brings back memories. I remember seeing these flat style ones at rest areas when we went on vacations years ago.

I would never pay that amount of money for something like this. But there probably are people who loved the game and prefer the actual thing. Probably a business might still get something like this since it has pay slots.

Although I don't know that I would trust buy.com. $143 shipping. Its not something I would have expected buy.com to sell.

Ignoring the emulator solutions, that price is pretty much full retail. If you're really looking for this, you can find game distributors all over the 'net that will undercut this by at least $400 (at least the last time I checked).

Holy schmackaroos ScrapSilicon, I have never seen a four player DIY before. I have not been into the Xbox thang but upon learning it can do the MAME thang am intrigued however I wonder aboot the lackluster processing power and how limited it may be in the number of ROMS it may actually be able of emulating. Anyone? Also, a mod chip and HDD upgrade necessary for convenience might render the bargoon questionable (?).

I currently have MAME running on an XBOX with over 3,000 ROMS - all work 100% perfectly. You don't necessarily need a modchip or a hard drive upgrade to use the Xbox as a MAME machine, but it definitely helps.

On older models, you can simply flash the BIOS to mod (Anything manufactured between 11/01/01 up until around 7/01/04). Otherwise, newer ones can be modded via software if you want to.

Upgrading the hd is great, but if your only looking for a MAME box you can fit plenty of ROMS on the 8GB Hard drive that comes standard, and you could always load them from DVD if you choose.

The modded XBOX is not the expensive part. It's the $1,000 Arcade Cabinet that really is the part that adds up.

My uncle works in the arcade business, you can buy these used like $100-$500 depending on the shape and the game. One thats not tabletop can even cheaper used about half that

If your really interested in something like this, I would suggest you also look at the one costco online has:
Text
Its only $2,299 and has 35 classic games and includes shipping.
