The exchange server I am on went down. I have all my e-mail files in an .ost file that can only be opened when synced with the server (which can't be done). Does nayone know of any utilities to convert .ost files to .pst files?

I found one but it cost $85. If I can't find a cheaper alternative I'll have to spring for it. Better than losing all my data.

Thanks

Found this on Microsoft Technet in the Exchange Section. Its amazing what a search on "recover OST" can do. =) I think this will solve your problem.

In a recent Exchange failure where we lost a significant amount of mail, we were still able to recover most of the user's complete mailbox. Fortunately, we had quite a few mobile users who were syncronizing their mail to an OST, and we took advantage of this.

First, we locked all users out their Windows NT accounts until we could contact them. We instructed the users to open Outlook in offline mode, and then did an export (NOT archive) of their entire mailbox to a local PST file. We then re-enabled their accounts, had them log into Exchange, and then import their PST back into their mailbox.
