Apparently there's some new bug in the Outlook mail program that really sucks. I'm still in the beginning stages of reading the information, so I don't know much, but check out these sites - this appears to be very important!!

These came from Shugashack.com

I"m sorry if this is old news to many of you, but it's only a few days old, and I figure it will help some people from getting their computer 'big brothered'

From what I gathered, the new bug is that a virus sent to your e-mail can still infect your system even if you did not open it. It's because the one who sent the virus can encode that virus in the date of the e-mail, which Outlook Express reads as soon as it receives the mail, thus releasing the virus. Microsoft is still working on a patch for this bug, so far they have come up with nothing.

If I wrongly interpret the situation in any way please correct me... This is solely based on what I have gathered so far on this new bug.

actually, it looks like they have found a patch for this problem (actually there are two problems that are interrelated). I still haven't read too much into the articles (I got distracted by subzeropc.com and all the interesting stuff there). These two sites appear to have patches to fix the problem (well, the MS security release does, and that's the one that fixes the bug that seems to be most threatening)

I even haven't installed Outlook, so I don't care ;)
But this example demonstrates again the carelessness of Microsoft when it's about security. Another well known example is IE: there have already been more patches released for it than you can count.
