MS Outlook 98 or 2000 over a network???

Does anyone know if Outlook works over a network? I have a boss that wants to use Outlook and let his secretary also use it to add appointments and contacts. However, I suspect that if the boss has it open, the secretary will not have access. Does anyone know for sure? If it doesn't work, is there any alternatives?

You suspect correctly. Unless they happen to be running Microsoft Exchange Server there is no way to let multiple users simultaneously access the same information in any version of Outlook.

One (maybe expensive) option is to not use Outlook. Look at Symantec's ACT! or other contact management software.

Thanks for the quick response. I am thinking of using a PDA. That way, the boss can sync up the PDA with both his computer and the secretary's computer, and he needs a PDA anyway.

I use my PalmPilot to keep my Outlook at home and at the office in sync. That's another way of dong what you are asking.
