'lo all,
Disclaimer: I have very little familiarity with Outlook, so bear with me if I'm using incorrect terminology for any of the panes, panels, options, or whatever.
So when one launches Outlook 2003, one is presented with a long vertical pane of options on the left, called Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, etc etc, right? Upon clicking the "Contacts" bar, Outlook takes you to a screen called "Contacts"; again on the left-hand side of the screen, the main header is titled "My Contacts," underneath which is something that looks like a subfolder, called "Contacts" again, right? My understanding is that these subfolders can be renamed to whatever you'd like, right?
Well, an entire subfolder of contacts (the subfolder was titled "Friends and Family") has completely disappeared. All of these contacts, however, are still in the Address Book, and their entries pop up as part of Auto Complete when sending emails, attaching CCs, and are otherwise generally accessible. In fact, when accessing any sort of advanced properties or folders dialogue window, the Friends and Family folder is listed right there.
(For example, when choosing to search the Address Book, the Friends and Family subfolder is selectable.)
...it's just not visible via "My Contacts."
Interestingly, attempts to put all of these contacts into a different folder under "My Contacts" have all failed. No error box pops up or anything; nothing happens, simply. These 50+ contacts, as well as the folder in which they are contained, are simply all invisible or something. All of the information is intact.
The unbelievable amount of whining that has been directed toward me as a result of this slight setback is driving me batshit. Someone help me, please. >.<
