Been using this for over a year. It's an MS Intellimouse Explorer and I'm running Windows 2000 SP4. I have it attached to a KVM (PROCONNECT INTEGRATED 2PORT KVM SWITCH). The last day or two it will freeze and not move for 1-5 seconds and then work again. I also think it moves more slowly than usual once in a while. What should I try in endeavoring to troubleshoot this thing? Thanks.

start by unplugging it from the kvm switch and see if the laggyness continues when its connected to the back of the pc. that seems like the logical starting point to me.

I guess I would have but I found my other Intellimouse Explorer USB optical and plugged it in instead and the problem disappeared. I suppose it isn't for sure, but I figure there's a discontinuity in the cord, the result of my having to tug on it (stupid, I know). Is it possible for me to replace the cord? Thanks for the help.

BTW, curious if you took your name from the movie, Unforgiven. I saw it a few days ago and was just SOOOOO impressed with it. I think it's probably far and away the greatest western ever made. Well, it's great!!!
