MS Office XP and Speech Recognition

When I installed the speech recognition tool (way after I already installed MS Office XP), Word started crashing A LOT. Now I can't even open Word and type two sentences without it freezing my whole system, and I have to manually reset. I uninstalled the feature, but Word and Powerpoint still crashes. It may have been another program that I installed (like Kazaa Lite v2), but I'm not sure.

Has anyone experienced any problems with Office's speech recognition?
