I have Office 2003 at work. (Just got a shinny new laptop there with a Windows 7 sticker on it. It is running XP).
If I use Open Office at home, can I share files between both programs?
TIA

You should be able to. You may have to be careful what format you save files to, but it should work. Which programs are you using specifically? Word and Excel?

Edit:
If you go the OO route, don't save files as 2003 xml, although that might seem obvious. I've had some nasty formatting problems doing that. Use the 97/2000/XP option.

Yes, you can. Word/Writer definitely works, and if you use the .doc file extension when saving files nothing that I've been able to do throws off either program when loading, the look pretty much identical.

I don't have any familiarity with PowerPoint, but you should be ok with the other 2. Your best bet is to try it out. OO is free, so all you'll lose is a bit of time. If it comes down to it, I could sell you a copy of Office2003 Student/Teacher edition cheap. You're a student, right? ;^)

If you're interested in it let me know, but I think you'll be ok with OO. I've been using it for a few years now, but I'm not a heavy office app user. You may find some deficiencies that aren't apparent to me.

AFAIK, unless they are in 2007's .*x format, it should be no problem. A new version of OO might even do .docx, etc.
