MS Office and Norton slow while on Net

Hey there,

Everytime I go online (dial-up) MS Office and Norton take a long time to open. When I am not online they open in the usual time. I've scanned for viruses and spyware and everything seems clean. Someone has told me it might be some sort of Office thing where it always tries to update and check URLs in documents or something. Any ideas?
