MS Office 2000 - Help with a bullet

Good morning all,

I'm trying to work in a 10 page Office 2000 Word document. When I go to bullet an item bullets are applied to every single line of the document, and not the one line. I've also noticed if I go to bold an item it will bold the whole doc, but when I hit undo it rolls it back to the one item I was trying to bold. A subsequent undo will remove the bold of the item

What exactly is going on? And how can I apply bullets to just one line?

see if auto-update of styles is turned on and whether you are accidently updating the style of the text.

Remove all automatically updating styles, and then changed the style that List Bullet was based on from Normal to None.

Seems to have cleared the problem up, thanks
