MS Natural Keyboard Pro Special Keys under linux

I've searched google groups about getting the special keys of my Natural Keyboard Pro (the blue ones across the top row) working in linux. It seems like all the instructions are incomplete. I'm using RedHat 7.3 and was wondering if anybody could walk me through the process of getting this functionality working. I've verified using xev that the special keys generate keycodes. However, I just don't know what to do from there.
